BCDs Recalled By Sherwood & Genesis

As part of a voluntary recall in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Sherwood and Genesis are replacing overpressure valves on several popular BC models.

Molding variations in one component of the overpressure valve used in some Sherwood Scuba and Genesis BCs could, in rare instances, prevent the valves from sealing properly. If you own one of the affected BCs, see your neareast authorized dealer for a free replacement valve.

The affected models for Sherwood are Silhouette, Magnum, Avid, Luna, Outback and Freedom models purchased after Sept. 1, 2000, with serial numbers between 21280001 and 22010740. The affected models for Genesis are Cayman, Cobra, Athena and Phantom models purchased after Sept. 1, 2000, with serial numbers between 21280001 and 22010740. Talon and ReCon models purchased after July 15, 2000, with serial numbers between 20520001 and 22010740.
